Whale Tail^® Dollars at Work

Several dozen youth from inner city San Diego were able to enjoy four weeks of outdoor ocean science last summer thanks to WHALE TAIL^® funding for the San Diego Junior Lifeguard Foundation. They visited places like Mission Beach, Ocean Beach, La Jolla Cove, and the Scripps Institute of Oceanography. They got to go snorkeling and tidepooling, make fish prints and Claymation videos, and work with underwater robotic vehicles at Mission Bay. Not only did they enjoy a lot of fun, sun, and time at the seashore, but they also spent the whole program learning from a rigorous, grade-appropriate curriculum developed by a marine biology teacher.
