California Buckwheat  (Eriogonum fasciculatum)

Plant: A small, low-spreading shrub 2 to 3 feet high. It is one of the most characteristic plants of the Coastal Sage and Southern California Chaparral. It is cherished by bees and makes an exceptionally fine honey. Common.
Flowers: Has white to pinkish flowers in dense terminal heads. The warm-brown of the fruiting heads gives color to the drying landscape.
Stem and Leaf: The many, narrow leaves are in bundles all along the stems.
