Public hearing and action on University of California at Santa Barbara request to amend its Long Range Development Plan (LRDP) to incorporate the Lagoon Management Plan (LMP) which identifies specific policies for management of campus lagoon and surrounding area including management of public access, wetland, and environmentally sensitive habitat resources. UCSB Notice of Impending Development No. 1-98: The University of California at Santa Barbara has proposes a new 188,000 sq.ft. up to 45-ft-high 200-unit 800-bed student housing complex, 19,000 sq.ft. of new support facilities (Resource & Technology Center and 2 multi-purpose buildings), one acre of wetland habitat on Lagoon Island, coastal access trail improvements, 26,050 cu.yds. of grading, landscaping, renovation & addition of 6,500 sq.ft. to Carrillo Dining Commons buildings, removal of temporary 546-space gravel parking lot, expansion of Lot 24 from 22-space to 81-space parking lot, and conversion of temporary 313 space gravel surface parking lot (Lot 38) to permanent 479 space paved parking lot. b. Pepperdine University Notice of Impending Development No. 2-99: Pepperdine University proposes leveling of existing playing field in Alumni Park, with 1,370 cu.yds. of grading, and replacement of turf; and addition of 1,100 sq.ft. to existing student lounge in School of Law.
