Handouts on the Interim Contaminated Dredge Material Management Strategy (Interim Plan) with Attachments 1, 2, and 3 and the draft July meeting summary were passed along to members for review. Discussion revolved along the pros and cons on setting up a Dredge Material Management Office (DMMO) and what we expected from the Interim Advisory Committee. Ralph recommended we re-name the committee Contaminated Dredge Material Advisory Committee. However, others thought we should not limit our scope to contaminated sediments. We agreed that Ralph would revise the Interim Plan, including the name. We would then comment on the revised plan.

So Ralph will redraft the Interim Plan and send it out to the members at today’s meeting by August 31st. The members would review the plan and discuss it at the September 8th meeting (10-noon; Port of Los Angeles).

Issues discussed at today’s meeting included the following:

  2. Ralph will revise the Interim Plan and send it to the members by August 31st.
  3. Members will review the revised Interim Plan before September 8th.
