Mission:
The San Francisco Bay Reserve is part of a nationwide network of estuarine reserves that provides essential habitat to wildlife, offers educational opportunities, and serves as a living laboratory for scientists. The National Estuarine Research Reserve System is a partnership program between NOAA and the coastal states that protects more than one million acres of estuarine land at 27 Reserve sites.

Education Programs:
We offer workshops, seminars, and field trips for the general public, educators, and other coastal decision makers about a variety of estuarine and wetland related topics. Please see our website for current offerings (www.sfbaynerr.org). Our partner organization, the Rush Ranch Educational Council, also offers public seminars as well as field trips for elementary students (www.rushranch.org). Additionally, interpretive displays will be established at Reserve sites, China Camp State Park in San Rafael and Rush Ranch in Suisun City.

We offer a variety of workshops and seminars at our Reserve sites (China Camp State Park in Marin and Rush Ranch in Solano county) and at our offices in the Romberg Tiburon Center.

Volunteer Opportunities

Docent
  Description:
Docents lead education programs for elementary students at the Rush Ranch reserve site in Solano County. The standard program is on the Patwins, the Native Americans who lived in Solano County 200 years ago.

Service Fee:
There is a small fee to park at China Camp State Park. Many of our workshops and seminars are free.

Parking lots and picnic areas are available at both Reserves sites and at our headquarters (the Romberg Tiburon Center).
