Residential program sessions highlight several key focus areas, including biomedicine and gene discovery, ecotechnology and marine biodiversity, and biomimetics and advanced materials design.

Professional Development Program
-Provides training, instructional materials, and scientific equipment for high school teachers to engage their students in the International Barcode of Life Project, a global biodiversity genomics initiative.

Environmental Water Quality Internship Program
-Provides opportunities for high school interns to monitor levels of fecal indicator bacteria in Ventura Harbor and Ventura Keys using EPA approved techniques.

Marine Biotoxin Internship Program
-Provides opportunities for high school interns to collect shellfish and phytoplankton samples for the Marine Biotoxin Monitoring and Control Program led by the California Department of Public Health.
