  • Marsh Madness Programs: Students from under-served schools explore local wetlands and learn about habitats, wildlife, and conservation. They receive small group instruction and experience identifying birds, searching for animal clues, examining pond water, studying wetland plants, and much more. Students tie together these lessons by creating a wetland
  • Wild About Wetlands Resource Kits: These teacher resource kits provide elementary grade students with 16 easy-to-use activities and all materials needed for learning about wetlands, animal life, and habitat restoration. Activities are cross-curricular, incorporating language arts, social science, mathematics, and science. Activity extensions promote community action
  • Wetland Wizard Series: CWA's interactive Wetland Wizard display series is taken to field days, outdoor fairs, and festivals. A game sheet guides audiences through displays of tracks, feathers, scats, nests, and more
  • Outdoor Adventures Day Camp Kit: CWA is testing activities that will be part of a reusable Outdoor Adventures kit for volunteer-run day camps. Camp organizers will select from a variety of stations and tailor their camp to the particular talents of volunteers and experts in the area
  • Junior Duck Stamp Program: This classroom series for K-12 students promotes conservation through the arts. Lessons focus on natural history, science, conservation, wildlife, and art. The final project has students creating waterfowl/habitat images for duck stamps. Images are entered into an annual state contest. The Best of Show from each state competes in a national contest, with the winner featured on a printed stamp. CWA and several partners produce a poster series of state winners to promote the school program
  • Earth Stewards Program: CWA partners with Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge to provide in-depth conservation education to junior high school students. During this targeted, three week program, volunteers and student interns work with teachers and refuge staff to present classroom lessons about waterfowl and wetlands, and lead outdoor activities. CWA funds student transportation and handbooks
