Biomonitoring: Rapid assessment for benthic macroinvertebrates and their significance in determining water quality in our watershed;

Life in the Valley Oaks: Comparing and contrasting life in oak trees from the gigantic tree itself to the tiny cynipid wasp;

Irrigation and Pioneering History: Historical overview of Yolo County’s gravity feed system and its interrelation to Cache Creek;

Agriculture and Technology: The technical advances made in Yolo County and the effects it has had on Yolo County’s development, growth, and resources.

There are several other projects underway including a Basketweaver’s Tending and Gathering Garden.

Volunteer Opportunities

  Description:
Various workdays, educational events, special events, and restoration and research project assistance.

  Qualifications:
Willing to work with others in a cooperative and responsible manner
  Commitment Required:
Approximately 8 hours per month or 96 hours during the year
