The Beach at Mavericks: runs between the western end of the Pillar Point Harbor District (PPHD) property and the southwest boundary of the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve (FMR) -- it is the beach facing the Mavericks wave. Most surfers use this beach to enter the water and begin the long paddle towards the wave. The area is well maintained by passionate locals who use the area for recreation on a year-round basis, and by the diligent efforts of PPHD staff.
