CH2M-Hill Study

We discussed the fact that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has contracted with CH2M-Hill to perform a stormwater study for Ballona Creek/Marina del Rey as part of the feasibility report on sediment management. CH2M-Hill will be providing a summary of existing conditions (based on historical data), and a preliminary analysis of ways to control contamination problems (avoid contamination via source control or capture and remove contaminants before they reach downstream areas). If necessary, CH2M-Hill will recommend possible sampling needed for more work to identify sources of contaminants.

LA County Department of Public Works

Bill De Poto mentioned that their annual stormwater report is due to the Regional Board by July 15, 1999. In addition to reviewing stormwater data from the past year, they planned to look at some trends over the past 3 years, including pollutants of concern for each major land use.

Data Gaps Report

We agreed that we could not complete the data gaps report until CH2M-Hill completed the review of existing data.
