Education Programs:
Bay Area Urban Youth Corps: Students are involved for 2 years in the program. They go on camping trips one weekend per month during the school year, doing conservation service projects and recreation/education activities. Summers provide longer experiences. During the first summer, student do the ”Conservation Challenges”: 2 weeks in the wilderness doing a conservation service project as well as more extensive environmental education and recreation. For the second summer, students participate in SCA’s national program in which they serve for 4-5 weeks on a conservation work crew at one of many possible locations all over the U.S.

Volunteer Opportunities

  Description:
Sometimes our student participants join with other volunteer projects but we do not offer community members volunteer opportunities.
Crew leaders are hired and needed to take the groups of students on their camping trips one weekend per month during the school year. We use 2 crew leaders per group of students.

Crew leaders complete an application and are required to have Wilderness First Aid training and Class B drivers license.
