Everyone is invited to become a volunteer in our habitat restoration program. We target teachers and students for classroom projects and offer fieldtrips and community service opportunities. We target community volunteers and the general public for involvement in our habitat restoration and stewardship project. We educate policymakers through our involvement in the Joint Powers Authority (JPA) for San Francisquito Creek.

Volunteer Opportunities

  Program:
San Francisquito Creek Stewardship Project
  Description:
Volunteers are sought to help in habitat restoration activities on San Francisquito Creek. Regularly scheduled volunteer workdays are held 1st and 3rd Saturdays April–October. Volunteers are needed for other creek-related projects (in the native plant nursery, for instance) throughout the year. Activities include: creek clean-ups, non-native invasive plant species removal, native plant seed collection, native plant re-potting or other related nursery work, planting native plants and project site maintenance.
  When Needed:
Year-round, especially April-October
  Qualifications:
Interest and enthusiasm in working outdoors, moderate physical health
  Commitment Required:
3 hours any given Saturday

Program:
CRMP Office Assistant

  Description:
Volunteers are sought to assist the CRMP office with tasks such as filing, maintaining databases, mailings, errands, outreach to volunteers, etc. as needed.

Throughout the year

Interest in the creek and the environment, somewhat organized, computer-friendly (Mac)

There is a $5 fee to join our library. There is no charge to check out materials.

Parking Availability:
Our parking lot capacity is approximately 20. There is also street parking; adjacent lots are also available.

Public Transit Access:
The closest Caltrain station is San Antonio. There is a shuttle during commute hours, between our building and the California Ave. Caltrain station. VTA bus access is limited and not convenient.

Disabled Access:
Handicapped parking spaces, restroom and first floor is wheelchair accessible, no elevator.
