We have a speaker's bureau on various environmental topics as well as a speaker at each of our monthly general meetings.

Education Programs:
OutdoorExplore! – an experiential, environmental educational program that connects elementary students to "nearby nature" via nature hikes and stewardship activities
Birding Field Trips – monthly birding field trips are offered throughout the County
Wildlife Conservation Training Certification – we will be offering a classroom and field-based training program for beginner advocates
Habitat Restoration-focused educational components – we offer educational orientations to volunteers at each of our community-based habitat restoration events

We will be offering a Wildlife Conservationist Training Certification program for volunteers interested in learning how to advocate on behalf of wildlife and habitat.

Volunteer Opportunities

  Description:
1.  Emory Cove, Restore Coastal Habitat for Bay Wildlife: Volunteers are needed to help remove invasive plants and debris to prepare for a native planting effort that will begin in January 2011. These efforts will help restore this sensitive coastal salt marsh habitat for South Bay wildlife.
2.  Mariner’s Point, Restore Nesting Site for Endangered Birds: Volunteers are needed to help remove invasive vegetation to prepare this important nesting site for the endangered California Least Tern.
3.  D-Street, Restore Nesting Site for Western Snowy Plover: Volunteers are needed to help remove invasive plants to prepare the site for nesting and foraging by the threatened Snowy Plover.
3.  San Diego River Restoration, Restore Riparian Stopover for Resident & Migratory Birds: Volunteers are needed to help restore this important riparian corridor by removing invasive plants and trash.
