An RCD is a special district authorized under the State Public Resources Code to promote and provide conservation education, to conduct research, and to advise and assist other public agencies and private individuals in the areas of land-use planning, soil and water conservation, wildlife habitat enhancement and restoration, control of exotic plant species, and watershed restoration.

Docent/naturalists who lead school field trips take part in a special training program in order to be accepted into the field trip program. Workshops for general public, government employees, and policy makers vary depending on guest.

Volunteer Opportunities

  Description:
Water quality monitoring projects, revegetation projects, office assistance, and various restoration projects utilize volunteers in many capacities.

Enthusiasm, physically fit for projects involving restoration work, climbing in and out of streams for water quality monitoring
