Education Programs:
Group and School Tours: Groups can reserve their own 1.5 hour guided tour led by our staff naturalists. Activities include guided hike, museum visit, and live animal demonstration.

Volunteer Opportunities

  Program:
Roots N' Shoots
  Description:
Volunteers will help the canyon grow through minor trail maintenance and removal of invasive species.
  When Needed:
Every Saturday from 1-2:30pm
  Qualifications:
Ages 12 and up. Sorry, we can not accept volunteers serving court-ordered community service at this time.
  Commitment Required:
Drop in. Must stay for duration of that day's program.
  Application/Training:
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the 1pm start time. A parent or guardian will need to fill out a "hold harmless" if you are under 18.

Service Fee:
A $2 entrance donation is appreciated. Groups over 25 persons must have reservations. Fees apply for guided hikes and other naturalists-led programs.

General Services:
Restrooms, Picnic Area
Interpretive center and museum open Saturdays, 10am-4pm.

Parking Availability:
Oak Canyon Nature Center offers its own parking lot as well as on-street parking. There is no fee for parking.

Disabled Access:
The main road leading to the building and amphitheatre is handicap accesible, as well as the 0.2 mile Heritage Trail.
