Education Programs:

School Tours: Children rotate between four outdoor stations at which they learn about different aspects of the bay (Ecology, Native Americans, Birds, Mud). Donation of $1 per child is suggested, plus a $10 reservation fee, Wednesday and Friday mornings, 10-11:30 am, at Shellmaker Island. Call (949) 923-2295.

Patch Program: for Girl and Boy Scouts badge requirement, $7 per child. Also programs for Bear Cubs and Brownies, hands-on discovery and crafts, programs are arranged after school and on Saturday (949) 923-2269.

In-Service Training:
To recruit new volunteers a one day introductory training for Associate members is held four times per year. A ten week naturalist training is offered in the autumn. The one day training is a prerequisite for the ten week program.

•  Tours: Walking, canoe, kayak, and electric boat, school groups
•  Administrative: Office work, greeting visitors and selling merchandise at the Peter and Mary Muth Interpretive Center
•  Photography: Attend special events
•  Special Events: Work at one of two special events: Earth Day and Coastal Clean Up Day
•  Publicity and Outreach: Talk to Public Education
•  Habitat Restoration: Regeneration projects at the Bay

Year-round

Commitment to work 8 hours per month and complete the 10 week training (optional). Interest in the topics and activities listed above.

Service Fee:
Published walking tours are free, kayak, canoe and electric boat tours range from $10 to $20. Special request walking tours are $5 per person.
