Note: The Seamobile program is available to LA Unified Schools only, however, supplementary materials (CD-ROM and teacher guide) are available to anyone, upon request.

The Seamobile Program
The Seamobile is a re-creation of a research submersible. Inside, after simulated dive to the bottom of the San Pedro Channel, student teams participate in an investigation of our local coastal marine environment where they collect data on one of five different marine habitats. It is designed for middle school students (6-8).

Instructional Supplements
Curriculum guides and two teaching kits are provided to each school prior to the Seamobile visit. Each kit contains unique materials, which correspond to activities described in the Seamobile Curriculum guide. Pre-visit activities are designed to provide students with some content and/or process background before their Seamobile voyage, while post-visit materials provide supplemental lessons which may enhance the Seamobile experience or help integrate the program into other units of study.

School wide program of 10-15 Classes

In-Service Training:
Teacher training sessions are provided for each school as the Seamobile is scheduled.
