Program: Monterey Bay Sanctuary Citizen Watershed Monitoring Network | |

Description: Citizens conduct water quality monitoring on streams and urban runoff throughout the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Different activities include measuring temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, conductivity and transparency. Some more advanced groups measure stream geomorphology. | |

When Needed: There are year-round, seasonal and annual commitments. Some groups monitor monthly year-round. Other programs are seasonal, such as Urban Watch. The Network coordinates two annual events that are just one day. | |

Commitment Required: Commitment depends on the program. Usually no more than 5-10 hours a month. | |
