Mission:
The mission of the Forest Service is to achieve quality land stewardship under sustainable multiple-use management to meet the diverse needs of the people. This can be summarized as “Caring for the Land and Serving People.” Los Padres National Forest encompasses nearly two million acres in the beautiful coastal mountains of central California, including Big Sur and the watersheds of Monterey, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura and Kern Counties.

Volunteer Opportunities

  Description:
Many volunteer opportunities exist, from providing conservation education in schools, staffing visitor centers and development of web page content, to assisting field biologists or providing trail maintenance. Current information is available on our website. Proposals for new volunteer opportunities are welcome.

Internship Opportunities
