Interns and volunteers are trained in special projects ranging from outreach booths to cleanup coordination.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer programs include the following:
- Adopt-A-Beach program, www.adoptsd.org
- Coastal Cleanup Day, www.cleanupday.org
- Storm Drain Stenciling/Storm Drain Curb Marking
- Community Cleanup Support Crew: Help educate the public on recycling and proper hazardous waste disposal at community cleanup events. Provide support for the cleanup coordinators.
- Community Outreach Booths: Help educate the public on waste reduction, pollution prevention, and curent ILACSD projects
- Office Support: Tasks vary. May include supply organization, phone calls, internet research, creating props for presentations, etc. All office tasks support our environmental education programs.
