Central Coast Salmon Enhancement, Inc. is a non-profit, tax-exempt, volunteer corporation dedicated to the enhancement and restoration of the Central Coast salmon fishery and the local creeks. CCSE is also devoted to educating the community on the ecology and economy of these resources.

Education Programs:

  • Trout in the Classroom (TIC): TIC gives our students an awareness and ownership to their local community’s watershed and fish species. CCSE puts incubator aquariums in classrooms, teachers are given a complete curriculum, and live trout eggs are delivered to the class. TIC is a twelve-week program that introduces students to the salmonid life cycle, importance of habitat, and the functions of our ecosystem.
  • Pen Rearing Program- View the rearing of King Salmon
  • Arroyo Grande Water Quality Monitoring and Creek Assessment Program: Adopt a site along the Arroyo Grande Creek or it’s tributaries to monitor once a month. Each group is trained to use testing equipment, and site is tested for phosphates, nitrates, pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature and turbidity.
  • Tour your Watershed: Take a tour to look at your local watershed, including vegetation and animal life discussion.
  • Stream Scene Presentations: present different views of stream life for all ages and time limits.

•  Salmon open ocean pen rearing project Biologist needs various assistance with project from set-up, assessment, and sustainability.
•  Education Programs- help lead school and after-school activities and help staff with presentations and egg deliveries with Trout in the Classroom program.
