Volunteers are trained as needed. A Tidepool Watch Program and Docents also help with school groups.

Volunteer Opportunities

  Program:
Camp Ground Host
  Description:
Volunteer up to 20 hours per week in exchange for a free campsite. Camp Hosts are scheduled to work in the entrance station, visitor center and do tidepool watch. In addition they "walk" the campground offering information and doing camp checks. They sell firewood from their host site and are avaliable 24 hours a day to help campers in need. (They have a radio to call a Ranger.) They are scheduled off two days a week and are not required to be in the park those days. Minimum stay is two months, maximum stay is 6 months during a year. There is a waiting list.

  Qualifications:
Be in good health, available 5 days a week, like people, have experience with cash handling, have self-contained vehicle in which to live while hosting.

Park Daily use fee may apply unless school groups K-12 make prior arrangements. No cost for the use of media, education, or tours.
